 Practice Group Staff Supervisor

 Job Description

Faegre Baker Daniels has an opportunity for a Practice Group Staff Supervisor to work in our Denver office. You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to supervising the support staff within the assigned practice group(s). This position will work with other talented individuals who share a passion for doing great work in the best interest of our clients.

What you would do in this job:

  • Provide leadership, direction, motivation and coaching to support staff
  • Make recommendations as it pertains to assignment changes, staffing decisions and workflow processes and efficiencies
  • Interview and select candidates for open positions and oversee the on-boarding process
  • Review support staff timesheets, oversee work schedules and manage overtime to ensure consistent standards and adherence to policies
  • Establish effective and positive relationships with lawyers, paraprofessionals and staff, and work with team members to determine workflow priorities
  • Maintain up-to-date practical knowledge of firm/group policies and procedures in order to assist, guide and instruct the staff and group
  • Demonstrate support of and commitment to the firm’s staffing model initiatives
  • Manage day-to-day LAA performance, address performance concerns and deliver feedback directly in a timely and constructive manner
  • Take ownership for performance evaluations and the determination of LAA performance ratings
  • Identify, coordinate and promote training sessions and development opportunities
  • Ad hoc projects, as assigned

  • 5+ years of legal administrative assistant experience, or equivalent law firm experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
