April 2016 – Lunch & Learn

COALSP’s February / March Lunch & Learn was hosted by Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC. Guidance Software presented its newest product EnForce Risk Manager, which is designed to proactively identify, categorize, and remediate sensitive or aged data throughout the enterprise. May 2016 – Lunch & Learn

June 2016 – Open Membership Luncheon

Our 2016 Open Membership Lunch was held at Denver’s historic Brown Palace Hotel. COALSP was pleased to present a speaker panel presentation “The Art of the Litigation Hold”. Topics included the basic requirements for establishing a defensible litigation hold process, the state of the law on litigation holds in 2016, including the judiciary’s expectation for how litigants should preserve new and dynamic sources of relevant information and tips for successfully fulfilling the duty to preserve relevant information. Speakers were Shawn Cheadle, General Counsel to Military Space, Lockheed Martin Space Systems; Kendra Smith, Litigation Support Project Manager, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP; and Phil Favro, Consultant, Driven.

July 2016 – Lunch & Learn

COALSP’s July Lunch & Learn was held at the Office of University Counsel, University of Colorado. This event was sponsored by Precision Discovery. Kinny Chan and John Meagher, eDiscovery Consultants for Precision Discovery, discussed Technology Assisted Review (TAR) and their involvement in the ground breaking Rio Tinto and Bridgestone case (Rio Tinto PLC v. Vale S.A., et al., No. 14-Civ-3042 (S.D.N.Y.) and Bridgestone Americas, Inc. v. International Business Machines Corp., No. 3:13-1196 (M.D. Tenn. July 22, 2014). Topics discussed: managing overall discovery costs, case law approving the use of TAR, recent court approved workflows of TAR.

October 2016 – 10th Annual eDiscovery Summit

November 2016 – Lunch & Learn

The November Lunch & Learn was hosted by Perkins Coie.  Mark Wentworth of Brainspace gave an insightful, current, relevant and informative presentation about the value of visualization and analytics in the eDiscovery workflow.
